2023 CAMPAIGN - EVIDENCE AND GLOBAL HEALTH EQUITY

The campaign for World EBHC Day 2023 centred on Evidence and Global Health Equity. Evidence is a prerequisite for achieving global health equity. Equitable health policies, systems and services are all dependent on functioning evidence ecosystems: the generation and application of evidence, whether this is by the public, health workers, researchers or policymakers.

Evidence ecosystems
An evidence ecosystem includes the local, national and/or global community(ies) of actors who commission, fund, produce, synthesise, disseminate, translate and use research evidence; the formal and informal relationships between them; and the policies, practices and structures which facilitate and underpin their interactions.

In 2023 the global evidence community responded to the call to share our experiences and collective wisdom on how to foster and embed equity-centred evidence-informed decision making and strengthen evidence ecosystems to advance global health equity through 55 blogs and 20 vlogs and through social media which reached 28.8 million people.
